Question:   Helical Rings
Hello, I am thinking of trying your helical focus mount with Rodenstock digital lens on an Arca Swiss 6x9 camera. I am hoping they will provide more precise focusing than the rack and pinion type. How would I mount your helical rings to a lens board? Thanks

Answer ( Click to view answer )   4/9/2010 1:49:02 PM
Our HFM affixes using four M2 countersunk head machine screws. Ideally, you would drill mating holes and thread them to receive the M2 screws. Alternatively, the screws could be held using nuts... though M2 nuts may be difficult to come by.

Question:   58mm Super Angulon - 612 & 45PS
Hi Paul, I have been offered a 612PS with cone for the 65mm Grandagon, would this work with the 58mm Super Angulon XL? I think the FFD is the same. Also do you still have any 58mm SA cones for the 45PS? Many thanks.

Answer ( Click to view answer )   3/20/2010 6:49:54 AM
Hi Richard,

the 65 Grandagon and 58XL differ in FFD by .07mm (70.0 vs 69.3). While the 1mm adjustment capability of the HFM may prove sufficient, you may have to remove the 0.5mm shim from the Cone Assembly. The Shims are located under the HFM... please read the instruction manual before attempting to remove the HFM.

We do still have a 45PS Cone Assembly for the 58XL. Please email me if you would like to order... paul.droluk@fotomancamera.com

Question:   617 & 624 info and availability
Where can I order and get current informaiton on the fotoman camera systems?

Answer ( Click to view answer )   3/19/2010 8:33:58 PM
Fotoman Camera Limited is no longer in production... as such what current information is available is detailed on this website. Other than for items shown on our Specials web page, 6x9, 612, 617, 4x5 and 8x10 cameras are sold out. We have a handful of 5x7 and 4x10 cameras available, and will feature them on our Specials page in the next weeks.

Fotoman Camera China, the marketing arm for China while we were in production, continues to manufacture and/or market portions of the Fotoman Camera product range. As we have no commercial affiliations with Fotoman Camera China, we do not keep abreast of what their current status is at any given moment. Inquiries for Fotoman Camera China products should be addressed to Charlie Li at fotomancamera@yahoo.com.cn

Question:   617 cone for Nikkor 180/5.6 W
Hi, what would be the approximate cost of getting a cone made for a Nikkor 180/5.6 W that would fit on my Fotoman 617? I see the cost of the focus mount but I don't see prices for the cones. Thanks.

Answer ( Click to view answer )   3/1/2010 2:54:06 PM
I'm sorry, but we do not have this Cone Assembly remaining in stock, and are no longer in production. Your best bet at this point would be to contact Fotoman Camera China... address your correspondence to Charlie at the following email address;

fotomancamera@yahoo.com.cn

To the best of our knowledge, Fotoman Camera China is still in production.

Question:   Fotoman 57PS
Will a Schneider Tele Arton or Tele Xenar 5.5, 300mm or 360mm be too long for the 5x7?

Answer ( Click to view answer )   3/1/2010 9:00:21 AM
Unfortunately the Tele Xenar & Tele-Artar 360/5.5 can not be used, as they are mounted in a #3 shutter... which our HFM can not accommodate.

My data indicates there never was 300mm Tele Xenar or Tele Artar. The net step down from the 360mm was the 270mm, which doesn't quite cover 5x7.

Question:   SA-617
Hi I'm after a shift adapter for the 617 have any lef? how can I purchase one? thanks

Answer ( Click to view answer )   2/24/2010 5:23:05 AM
Yes, we do have a couple of SA-617's remaining... however, I would remind you that you must have Shift-Capable Cone Assemblies in order to use the SA-617.

Shift-Capable Cone Assemblies are those that incorporate a 15mm Spacer.

If you would like to enquire further, please email me directly at paul.droluk@fotomancamera.com, as we prefer not to conduct business on the Q&A page.

Question:   Super Angulon cone
Hi Paul, My question is similar to the one asked on 1/4/2010 but pertains to the cone I'm using with an f8 90mm Super Angulon on my fotoman 617. Which other lenses, if any, could I use with this CA? Best regards, Rudy

Answer ( Click to view answer )   1/14/2010 7:21:28 PM
Hello Rudy,

the only other lens that matches precisely is the Fujinon 90/8-SW.

There are a few other 90mm lenses that can be used, though additional components (Spacers, Shims) would be required.
